Fake Off Wednesday, May 13, 10 p.m. E/P, truTV Ten teams compete against each other in “faking,” a mix of theater, acrobatics, and illusion. This is the second season, featuring a team of magicians — Spidey, Joel Meyers, and Joseph Reohm, all of whom appeared on Wizard Wars. There are other magical effects used by teams throughout the series, including black art, wires, and video illusion.

America’s Most Badass Aired March 31, AHC And if you didn’t catch it, Houdini was a recent “contestant” on America’s Most Badass on the American Heroes Channel. The show pits historical figures against one another for the title of Most Badass, with Harry going up against Neil Armstrong, Teddy Roosevelt, and John Dillinger. The episode, “Living on the Edge, is available to view for $1.99 on YouTube. Spoiler alert: Our boy doesn’t do so well. A Higher Level of Chocolaty Canada, May 11–??? Darcy Oakes, a Canadian magician who followed up his fifth-place finish on Britain’s Got Talentwith a one-hour UK special in December 2014, is featured in this YouTube clip promoting Tim Horton’s fast-food restaurants. A 30-second version will reportedly begin airing across Canada this week.

The first six installments re-air that same day, starting at 9:30 a.m. and running until 3:30 p.m. Close Up Kings Thursday, January 29, 11 p.m. E/P, SyFy Three best friends — Magick Balay, Loki, and Johnny Blaze — travel from city to city with only a few dollars in their pockets, taking on challenges and trying to outdo one another. This is the first of eight sixty-minute episodes. The Daily Show (unknown), 11 p.m. E/P, Comedy Central A skit was taped recently at David Copperfield’s warehouse in Las Vegas — featuring David, Ice McDonald, Kayla Drescher, and Harrison Lampert — about how magic is dead in America, now that China has proclaimed itself to be the new capital of magic. Rumor has it that the segment will air this week.

If you missed the first episode, it re-airs on Wednesday, January 21, at 4:30 p.m., and again Thursday, January 29, at 8:30 a.m. American Masters – Ricky Jay: Deceptive Practice Friday, January 23, 9 p.m. E/P, PBS For the first time in the series’ 29-year history, American Masters features a magician, airing the 2013 documentary.
